Mozart Lieder for Low Voice
This vintage Edition Peters score presents Mozart Lieder for low voice with piano accompaniment. Edited and annotated by Max Friedlaender, it combines vocal notation, piano parts and printed German lyrics in one softcover volume.
The cover identifies the register as “Tiefere Stimme”. Mozart’s name appears in large black lettering above the simple title “Lieder”. A pale green decorative border surrounds the text.
Edition number 299b appears beneath the Peters emblem. The music carries plate number 9527. These details identify the edition alongside the editor’s name and low-voice designation.
Songs, Lyrics and Piano Accompaniment
The vocal line sits above the paired piano staves, allowing singer and accompanist to follow the music together. German words appear beneath the melody. Additional verses are printed alongside or below the musical passages.
The volume includes “Abendempfindung” and “Die kleine Spinnerin”. The photographed pages show their titles above the opening systems. Dynamics, articulation and expressive directions accompany the notation.
The complete volume contains 73 pages. Its focused voice-and-piano format offers both reading interest and practical musical use. The compact page size makes it a manageable addition to a vocal-score collection.
An Ornate Title Page and Mozart Portrait
Inside, an elaborate decorative frame surrounds the title and editorial credits. Musical imagery, foliage and seated figures fill the ornamental border. A lyre appears above the main lettering.
An oval portrait of Mozart occupies the facing page, enclosed within a simple rectangular frame. A facsimile signature is printed beneath the portrait. Together, these opening pages provide a decorative contrast to the musical notation.
A red oval music-shop stamp appears near the upper corner of the title page. This visible marking is retained as part of the copy’s condition. It adds a small individual detail without interrupting the title text.
A Vintage Softcover Score
The white cover and pale green border have a restrained appearance beside the ornate interior title page. The rear cover is plain, with scattered surface marks. Slight curling and creasing are visible near the edges.
Measuring approximately 19 × 27 × 0.5 cm, the volume has a slim profile. Its combination of portrait, decorative title page and vocal music suits a collection of vintage editions. The printed score remains clear and readable.
Condition
Good overall used condition, with cover rubbing, light soiling and minor spine-edge wear. The lower outer front-cover corner is curled and creased, with a small edge split. Light marks and waviness are present on the rear cover.
The pages show age-related toning. The binding has slight opening from use, with all 73 pages present. There are no interior tears or missing pages.
