Joan Walsh Anglund Spring Porcelain Plate
Three children explore a fresh green landscape on this vintage Joan Walsh Anglund Spring plate. Titled “Frühling”, the illustration brings together a fishing boy, a flying blue bird and small yellow flowers. Pale blue water and softly outlined clouds complete the scene.
The circular composition balances the children’s activities with an open sky and a branching tree. Bright blue dungarees and a yellow dress add cheerful colour against the green banks. Fine dark outlines define the figures and landscape details.
A Storybook Spring Landscape
At the pond’s edge, a barefoot boy sits on rounded rocks beneath a broad-brimmed hat. He holds a branch with a string tied around its tip. Concentric ripples mark the point where the line reaches the water.
Across the bank, a dark-haired girl in yellow reaches towards a small blue bird in flight. A matching bow holds back her hair. Beside her, a smaller blonde child bends towards the flowers growing in the grass.
A tree rises along the right side, its branches carrying small new leaves. Reeds and rounded stones edge the blue pond. These details connect the separate activities into a balanced outdoor scene.
Colour and Composition
Fresh green slopes curve around the water, echoing the plate’s round shape. The broad pale sky leaves space above the figures. Blue shading around the upper edge links the sky with the pond below.

A thin dark line frames the illustration inside the white rim. The colour-printed scene covers most of the shallow porcelain face. Its small details remain engaging when viewed closely.
Walther Mark and Display Mount
The reverse carries a blue tulip-shaped Walther backstamp with the number 6 beneath it. A raised circular foot ring supports the plate. A paper inventory label is also present on the white reverse.
A wire hanging loop is fixed to a circular adhesive-backed mount near the foot ring. The adhesive has a yellowed appearance. This existing mount remains attached to the plate.
Condition
Very good vintage condition overall, with vivid colours and a clearly readable title and copyright inscription. The reverse retains its paper label and adhesive hanging mount. Please examine the detailed photographs for the rim, surface and attachment.
