Hutschenreuther Ole Winther Porcelain Group
Six miniature monthly plates and a coordinating vase bring seasonal birds and botanical detail together in this decorative porcelain group. Made by Hutschenreuther in Germany, the pieces feature designs by Ole Winther. Fine gold ornament links the colourful illustrations across the seven-piece selection.
The months represented are April, July, August, September, October and November. Each plate presents a different bird scene within a seasonal framework. Flowers, fruit, foliage and ornamental details give the small compositions a varied character.
Six Seasonal Bird Plates
April pairs a perched songbird with lilac flowers and water lilies. July introduces roses and a nest with young birds. August shows swallows among slender flowering stems, with one bird extending its wings across the centre.
September brings together a bird and apples within an ornamental seasonal frame. October uses a dark bird, berries and leafy branches. November features a long-billed bird surrounded by oak leaves, acorns and blue berries.
The month names sit within decorative script cartouches. Gold flourishes continue around the rims, framing the illustrations without filling the white porcelain ground. Each plate measures approximately 9.5 cm in diameter.
A Coordinating Flared Vase
The vase adds height to the miniature plate group. Its narrow body opens into a flared, gently scalloped rim. Pink flowers, birds and butterflies decorate the lower portion, accompanied by fine gold scrollwork.
The upper body remains largely white, giving the detailed lower decoration space to stand out. Gold ornament follows the rim. At approximately 10 × 8 cm, the vase remains compact enough to display with the six small plates.
Marks and Decorative Detail
Green Hutschenreuther markings and Ole Winther signatures appear on the undersides. The plate reverses also carry motif descriptions in several languages. These inscriptions connect the decorated faces with their individual bird and botanical subjects.
The white porcelain, multicoloured illustrations and fine gold accents create a coherent display group. Arrange the pieces together in a cabinet or across a small shelf. The selection also complements an existing collection of miniature decorative porcelain.
Condition
Good to very good overall condition, with vivid decoration and well-preserved gold detailing. There are no chips or cracks. The white porcelain remains bright across the plates and vase.
