This vintage Carl Schumann oval porcelain dish combines a pierced lattice rim with a colourful central bouquet. Pink roses, purple flowers, small blue blossoms and green foliage stand out against the white porcelain ground.
The dish measures approximately 26 × 15 cm, with a height of 5 cm. Its shallow interior and raised openwork border give the floral decoration a clearly defined setting.
A Reticulated Oval Form
The rim consists of repeating pierced openings linked by narrow porcelain bands. Their arrangement creates a lattice effect around the full oval outline.
A softly scalloped outer edge follows the rhythm of the openwork. Fine gold detailing traces the edge and separates the pierced rim from the smooth interior.
Viewed from an angle, the border rises above the centre and introduces depth to the form. Light passing through the openings highlights the contrast between the solid bowl and airy perimeter.
Mixed Floral Decoration
A large pink rose anchors the central bouquet, accompanied by smaller pink blooms and purple daisy-like flowers. Blue blossoms, cream petals and red-orange accents add variety around the green leaves.
Smaller floral sprigs are scattered across the surrounding white interior. These lighter accents connect the central bouquet with the fine ornamental band beneath the rim.
The decoration remains colourful in the supplied photographs. Its botanical subject and bright white background give the dish a distinctive garden-inspired character.

A blue maker’s mark appears on the underside, consistent with the supplied Carl Schumann Bavaria attribution. The photographs include both an overall base view and a closer view of the mark.
The supplied circa-1930s–1950s dating remains approximate. Neither an exact manufacturing date nor a specific hand-finishing process has been independently established.
Condition
Good to very good vintage condition is reported, with minor wear to the gold detailing. The underside shows light marks and discolouration around the foot ring.
A fine dark line is visible across part of the upper rim in the close-up photograph. This may indicate a hairline crack and requires physical inspection; the rim is not described as damage-free.
Small surface specks are also visible inside the dish. Please examine the detailed photographs for gilding wear, rim condition and minor age-related marks.
