This striking antique Persian rug hails from the Hamadan region, one of the oldest and most prolific weaving centers in the Middle East. Dating back to the 1930s, this piece is a testament to the rugged durability and bold geometric artistry of Persian village textiles. Unlike the more formal city rugs, Hamadan rugs are celebrated for their charmingly idiosyncratic designs and saturated, earth-toned palettes.

The rug features a strong central composition with stylized floral and geometric motifs that have softened beautifully over nearly a century. The use of high-quality, hand-spun wool and natural dyes has resulted in a piece with incredible depth and "abrash" (natural color variation), giving it a unique character that machine-made rugs cannot replicate.
