Vintage Sarouk Wool Rug, Rose Field & Diamond Medallion, c. 1950s — 2'3" × 2'6" — 1C1283

A beautiful vintage Sarouk rug from the 1950s — hand-knotted in the great workshop tradition of the western Middle East, in the most celebrated Sarouk format: the warm rose/salmon field with central diamond medallion and scrolling corner sprays.

The terracotta/salmon-rose field is the star — soft, warm, and luminous, it’s a color that works in traditional interiors, contemporary neutral spaces, and warm-toned maximalist rooms alike. The central diamond medallion is densely packed with floral rosettes in navy, ivory, pink, red, and caramel, outlined in sharp dark navy against the warm ground. In each corner, a large scrolling boteh/paisley spray in brown/caramel with blue and ivory detail — free-flowing and botanically precise.

The border is pale pink/ivory with a continuous large floral scroll, framed by dark navy guard borders that make the terracotta field glow by contrast. At 69 × 76 cm (2’3” × 2’6”), this is a perfect entrance mat, bedside rug, or desk mat — and at this small format, the density and precision of the knotting is particularly impressive.
