Aktie
An original and complete issue of the Journal de Tintin, N°482, French Dargaud edition, dated 16 January 1958. This issue brings together Hergé’s “Coke en Stock”, Dino Attanasio’s “Alfred Nobel”, Franquin’s “Modeste et Pompon” and Raymond Macherot’s “Les Croquillards”. A cheerful winter cover introduces a varied selection of comics, illustrated features and reader activities.
Hergé: The Underwater Episode
The back cover carries a dramatic “Coke en Stock” episode, known in English as The Red Sea Sharks. Tintin and Captain Haddock descend beside a large anchor chain into deep green water. A shark approaches the viewer, adding tension to the sequence.
At the surface, Tintin appears in a red life jacket as the episode reaches its cliffhanger. The strong contrast between underwater greens and red accents gives the page considerable visual impact. Its colours are described as exceptionally vivid and well-preserved.
Alfred Nobel by Dino Attanasio
A double-page biographical strip follows Alfred Nobel’s experiments, the explosion that killed his brother Emil and the development of dynamite. It also addresses his concerns about the arms trade and the decision to establish the Nobel Prize.
Period interiors, historical costume and dramatic explosion scenes give the feature a varied visual character. A Venice canal scene adds another setting within Attanasio’s detailed storytelling.
Franquin and Macherot
“Modeste et Pompon” presents a car-cleaning mishap involving soap, a hose and a goat eating the chamois leather. The domestic setting offers a comic contrast to the maritime adventure and Nobel biography.
Macherot’s double-page “Les Croquillards” includes a castle siege, train robbery, car chase and white-flag surrender. Its blue, red and yellow palette contributes another distinctive visual style to the issue.
Winter Cover and Further Features
The front cover shows children building a giant snowball beside a snowman with a yellow scarf. “VIVENT L’HIVER ET SES JEUX!” sets a playful seasonal tone.
Additional content includes a concluding animal comedy strip signed Cottart and a Dante Alighieri feature titled “L’Histoire du Monde — Vita Nuova”. A games page offers charades, rebuses and word puzzles, rounding out the issue’s editorial variety.
Condition
Good to very good overall, as described. The front cover is good, with vivid colours, light edge wear and no significant creasing.
The interior is good to very good, with bright colour pages and lightly age-toned paper. The Hergé back cover is described as excellent, with exceptionally vivid colours. Please review the photographs for a closer assessment.
