vintage-german-shepherd-miniature-cast-metal-figurine-2c142
Vintage German Shepherd Miniature Cast Metal Figurine, Silver-Grey, 7 cm - 2C142

About This Piece

This vintage German Shepherd miniature combines an alert pose with a textured silver-grey finish. Upright ears, an open mouth and a lowered tail create a recognisable canine silhouette.

At approximately 7 cm long and 5 cm tall, the figurine offers a compact decorative accent. Its small proportions make it suitable for a miniature collection, display cabinet or desk.

An Expressive Standing Pose

The dog holds its head above a deep chest, with the muzzle extending forward. Its erect ears and open mouth give the figure an attentive, lively expression.

Separately modelled legs create open spaces beneath the body. The hindquarters lead into a long tail that curves down beside the rear legs.

The side profile brings together a sloping back, narrow waist and textured shoulders. These details distinguish the breed without relying on a separate plinth or decorative setting.

Modelled Coat Detail

Curved lines describe the fur around the neck, chest and flanks. Longer-looking strands around the shoulders contrast with smoother sections along the back and lower legs.

Raised surfaces catch the light, while darker recesses define the coat pattern. The combination gives the miniature a more varied appearance than a plain, polished metal ornament.

The figure is described as solid cast metal. The exact alloy remains unconfirmed, so the listing does not identify it specifically as pewter or Zamak.

Silver-Grey Surface

The metallic colouring complements the sculpted fur and angular outline. Darker areas provide contrast around the face, body and legs.

Surface appearance can change with lighting and viewing angle. The finish should be appreciated as vintage metalwork rather than a uniformly bright, newly polished surface.

The suggested period is approximately the 1930s–1960s, although an exact production date is not established. No maker attribution or manufacturing country has been confirmed.

Condition and Photographs

Very good overall vintage condition, with the ears, muzzle, legs and tail reported intact. The figure is reported to stand stably, with darker colouring in the recessed coat detail.

The supplied photographs are also used for another example of this model. They illustrate the design and finish; individual surface marks may differ on this second figurine.

Key Details

Subject: German Shepherd dog
Period: Approximately 1930s–1960s
Material: Cast metal
Construction: Described as solid cast
Finish: Silver-grey with darker recessed areas
Dimensions: Approximately H 5 × L 7 × W 2 cm
Pose: Standing, with upright ears, open mouth and lowered tail
Quantity: One figurine, a separate physical example from SKU 2C141
Condition: Very good vintage condition; principal details reported intact
Photographs: Representative images shared with another example of this model
SKU: 2C142

Why It’s Special

The alert expression and flowing coat detail give this miniature character beyond its modest size.
